Service Description: The dataset contains information the centrelines of rivers, lakes and transitional European surface bodies delineated for the 2nd River Basin Management Plans (RBMP) under the Water Framework Directive (WFD).
The struture and content of the SurfaceWaterBodyCentreline dataset is documented in the WISE GIS Guidance (https://cdr.eionet.europa.eu/help/WFD/WFD_521_2016/GISGuidance/WISE_GISGuidance.pdf).
A total of 23 countries reported the dataset: AT, BE, BG, CZ, DE, ES, FR, HR, HU, IE, IS, IT, LT, LU, LV, NL, NO, PL, PT, RO, SE, SK, UK.
For the remaining countries reporting under WFD, and for some missing water bodies in the 23 countries listed above, the [hydroIdLocalId], [hydroIdNamespace], [geographicalNameText], [geographicalNameLanguage] and [continua] values are empty. The [geometry] column was directly copied from the SurfaceWaterBodyLine dataset, or contains an empty geometry if the the surface water body had been reported as polygon in the SurfaceWaterBody dataset. These cases are documented in the [qcCheck] value.
